An "Ok" distortion pedal but a "Great" boost pedal

I got this as an "alternative" distortion pedal, but it's very hard to get a great sound "by itself" as a distortion generator. The distortion is nicely saturated, but it sounds kinda fizzy. The Hi and Low Boost modes are very harsh sounding, particularly the Hi Boost, which can probably break glass along with ear drums.
However, I have indeed found a great use for this as a boost/overdrive pedal. It contrasts my Ibanez TubeScreamer in a great way in that the TS cuts lows and boosts mids, while the Mooer Blade does the opposite and boosts lows (and highs) while scooping the mids quite a bit. This thing genuinely sounds terrific boosting my Marshall amp into full-on saturation.
As a distortion pedal, the Mooer Blade is lacking. But as a booster pedal, the Mooer Blade is fantastic.

I needed a distorsion pedal that really produce a good sound for metal and I am very happy with my Mooer Blade.Every time I use it I feel like a can play a lot of songs.I like the fact that it is really small but very powerfull.
Later:
You don't always need that powerful distorst sound, sometimes you need less distortion so you need another pedal, an overdrive or drive one.You cannot use this one for every type of rock song.

Mooer Blade ist ein solide wirkendes kleines Pedal, das für die Größe eine Menge Regler aufweist. Vielleicht ist es bei dem Hersteller Standart, aber da es mein erster Mooer ist, fiel mir das auf.
Die Bedienung ist nicht ganz einfach, denn Volume- und Tonpoti sind wirklich klein und reagieren auch noch ziemlich sensibel. Andererseits ist deren Größe auch vom Vorteil, weil die Regler wohl kaum durch Zufall verstellt werden können.
Mal eingestöpselt und schon liefert mein kleines gutmütiges JTM1-Topteil einen fiesen, irgendwie schlängelnden Sound.
Ich kann mich meinem Vorredner nur anschließen: mit dem Hi Boost klingt das Ding nach Pantera, mit dem Lo Boost nach einem modernen Remaster von Metallica der 80er. Mulmig und undifferenziert wird es eigentlich nie, schmerzhaft aber schon- ab einem gewissen Grad an Tone und Volume.
Ein spezieller Verzerrer. Ich stelle mir gleich einen EHX Metal Muff vor, der einen schlechten Tag hatte und dadurch noch leicht aggressiver klingt. Wer so einen leicht synthetischen durchsägenden Sound liebt, kann zugreifen. Ich selbst habe das Pedal aus Neugier bestellt und behalte es.
