Good sound for flugelhorn

I bought this mouthpiece for myself, but also asked a professional player to test it, as I am just an amateur player. He liked it very much for the size, the sound it produces and the ease of play. Compared to a standard 7C flugelhorn mouthpiece, it sounds much better due to the V shaped cup, but it is not difficult to play. The rim is comfortable also.
It is a good value for the money.

Yamaha flugel 14F4

Everything is relative with mouthpieces. If you like a big 'roomy' piece that is deep, giving a dark full sound, then you will like this Yamaha flugel. The rim- like all Yamaha pieces- is semi flat and comfortable (never as flat as the description suggests !). Playing the Shew models myself I have say the 14F is a little too roomy and dark for big band playing. A good complement, however, to the 14 Yamaha trumpet piece. Well worth a try !

Après avoir joué pendant 1 an sur mon embouchure Yamaha 11F4, j'ai voulu changer pour un son beaucoup plus feutré et plus proche du son du bugle original .
Au début le passage fut assez difficile, surtout pour les aigus. Par contre, beaucoup plus de puissance dans le medium et le grave.
Après maintenant plus d'un an avec cette 14F4, j'ai retouvé toutes mes sensations dans tous les registres; impossible maintenant de changer tellement cette embouchure est parfaite et est en harmonie avec mon bugle Yamaha.
Très belle qualité de fabrication, pas de modification de couleur jusqu'à présent.

Angenehmes Mundstück bei Wechsel zwischen Flügelhorn und Trompete

Bei der Suche nach einem Flügelhornmundstück war das Klangideal für mich eigentlich Denis Wick. Ich habe allerdings festgestellt, dass ich beim schnellen Umstieg von der Trompete aufs Horn in der Bigband oder im Blasorchester damit Probleme habe. Durch einen großen Kessel und eine sehr offenere Bohrung bei DW leidet die Ansprache und die Höhe bei mir, zumindest wenn das Mundstück erstmal ungewohnt ist.
Nach ausgiebigem Testen bin ich dann beim Yamaha 14F4 gelandet. Bei diesem Mundstück klappt es im Vergleich zum DW mit der Ansprache besser und auch in der Höhe habe ich keine Probleme. Die schnelle Umstellung von der Trompete fällt nicht ganz so schwer. Der Sound ist nicht ganz so samtig wie bei DW, aber immer noch soft und "hornig". Außerdem finde ich den Yamaha Rand sehr komfortabel. Die Verarbeitung ist top.
Eigentlich gibt es bei dem Mundstück nichts zu meckern; vielleicht einen winzigen Abstrich beim Sound, aber irgendwo muss man ja bekanntlich immer Kompromisse machen bzw. vielleicht ist das auch Geschmackssache.
Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit diesem Mundstück.
