Great lead and jazz mouthpiece

Most of my playing is a commercial idiom, as such I was keen to try some of the bobby shew mouthpieces. I had tried a few in a shop and decided to buy from thomann in a combined order.

The quality of the product was outstanding. The plating was flawless, like a mirror, there are no machine marks. The bore and backbore were blemish free, too.

As for sound - it is bright and definitely has plenty of core.

With mouthpieces as shallow and soft on the rim you must resist the urge to press hard and over-blow.

Personally I find that I play sharper on this piece than I do on my other equipment. I just lengthen the main slide to combat this.

An Excellent design ideal for LEAD Playing and all COMMERCIAL Trumpet work. You can also play softly with control as well as power playing. Very even throughout the register from low to high. There are Five BOBBY SHEW Trumpet Mouthpieces with two Flugel Pieces, all of which are excellent, made to a very high standard thanks to MARCINKIEWICZ, and are available through THOMANN. Anyone considering a change of Mouthpiece should give the BOBBY SHEW MARZINKIEWICZ range a try.

For most, the 1.25 is too shallow so I'd recommend the 1.5 or bigger, however, if you can utilise this mouthpiece properly, it makes a fantastic lead trumpet mouthpieces.
