No-o-oise! I hate parasitic noise. One of the reasons why I mostly play software plugins instead of hardware amplifiers and guitar effects.

I have two Ibanez guitars, Jem and Pia. They both have a dead silent spot when I pont them at the exact geographical North, but I wanted that dead silence to be present all the time, so my long search for the holly grail began.

Step one was to add an extra copper shielding on top of the graphite paint in the electronics cavity of the Jem. Did not made any change.

Step two was to plug everything in my studio in an audiophile studio rack power conditioner with a DC filter. Did not made any change.

Step three was to get Radial J48 DI box with a ground lift.
It made it better but not enough.

Step four was to get a military grade EMF shielding curtains for my studio. My phone lost the cellular signal, but the noise persisted. Did I gave up? You know I didn't!

If you plan to use the ISP Hum Extractor in a harware only environment, your search and suffering is over, and you will have a true ZERO parasitic noise guitar signal experience, transparent as you want. You will have it Easy.

If you plan to use it in a plugins only sim DAW environment, there is one major problem. You will find that the ISP manual never even mentions about such possibility, let alone explaining how the routing and wiring should be done.

The secret is called I/O (In/Out) plugin. It lives in your Logic DAW effects tab, so go and find all the videos about how to use it.

To make it work hardware wise, you will need a USB interface with the minimum of 2 Hi-z instrument inputs and the minum of 3 line outputs.

The settings on the ISP itself are a subject to a VERY delicate ballance and exact combination. It will take you a day or two to find the sweet spot, but when you get there, the fun begins.

I don't know of anything else on the market that is not a noise gate but targets exactly the 50 /60 hZ parasitic noise frequencies and kills them mercilessly.

If you play anything more than a noise gated chugging, and are a fan of high gain transparent dynamic guitar solo sound, you need this, because nothing else can help you.
