I was undecided between the EMG BTS and the BQC System. The 3-band semi-parametric midband looked appealing.
Until I read about the DIP switches of the BTS System and the way they change the Treble band EQ lines. Essentially, the DIP switches make the Treble control act like a treble boost/cut (2 different center frequencies) or like a high-mid boost/cut (again, with 2 different center frequencies).
So, once installed (and the included instructions make it easy as a few cable clicks), you can basically dial-in any tone curve you need in a matter of minutes! This is truly a case of "less is more".
The included knobs aren't the prettiest, but they're ok. You can always swap them for others that suit your taste better. (I won't bother.)
Also, on looks-wise, no "concentric ugliness" on this system!
Being a modular system, you can always buy other individual EMG systems to better suit your needs and likings. But you will be more than served with this one!
