As I've been using some instruments on stage, which always have a stereo line output (keyboards, for example), I needed a small mixer to bundle all instruments to just one stereo output for the FOH. If you are looking fo a mixer in lower price regions there is only this RX 1602 from Behringer.
The building quality is good, the mixer unit is made for using it in a rack, like i do. The only small problem is perhaps the resolution of the knobs at the front. It would be nice, if you could do the fine-adjustment a bit easier. But that is not really a major problem, it would just be a "nice to have".
The "fear" of to much noises is inappropriate. If you turn the levels all the way up, there is a little noise, but nothing where you should be concerned about (especially in a live situation). The sound quality is as good, as if you don't use the mixer - and that means the mixer does its job good.
You have three knobs for every channel, where you could change the main-mix volume, the monitor-mix volume and the panning. Furthermore there is a mute button. Simple and useful. The cool thing is, that you have a seperate mono-monitor-output besides the stereo main-outputs. So you can make your own monitor-mix with the RX 1602, which is an amazing feature when playing live.
For me the Behringer RX 1602 is the best line-mixer in its pricerange, that also allows to manage your own monitor mix.
