The real deal, imo.

I never had the opportunity to try any of the Neve consoles from the 1970s, to compare the legendary 1073 module installed in them with this 1073OPX. But it turned out to be everything I imagined and even more. What a sound right out of the speakers, with unique euphonic tonal quality, seductive warmth, low-mid punch and harmonic distortion – with a coloring that can only be fully perceived once you try it.
Your mind can project sounds that you then chase one way or another, and sometimes certain sounds can just take you even further into new horizons within your own mind. The 1073OPX sound is big, bold and larger than life to my ears. I don't know if this has anything to do with pedigree, its preamps or even its specific transformers, but it add an expansive quality that flatters all audio processed through it. And after some experimentation, I suspect it will be difficult for anyone to get rid of this tool after that. If not impossible.

8 channels of the classic NEVE sound with mariners transformers. They sound warm, balanced, and 3D. With 16 channels (two units), my drum and grand piano recordings sound BIG! It does give you that 1073 sound with plenty of headroom. I would have given it a full score, but waiting for weeks on delivery was worth it!
