Best pickup I ever owned

PRS 59/09 is a wonderful pickup.
With clean sound it is warm, clear and very detaild. It has a thicker tone than a singelcoil but its still not as "empty" as humbuckers tend to be. The tone reminds a bit of a P90 pickup with alot of sustain.
With distortion it sound just like a real humbucker should sound! The tone is thick but still has alot of mids and alot of sustian! with no hum.
Still there are no words good enough to describe the quality and details in the sound of this pickup. Its wonderful!

A little dark - maybe it's my wiring/pots/treble bleed but these are not high output pickups and sound incredible. If they weren't so expensive, I would probably put them on more of my guitars. Not muddy. Bell-like clarity as a matter of fact, and sound just wonderfully as a good classic rock set of pickups.

Exzellent klingender Pickup, spielt ohne Weiteres in der Liga von 57/08 und Dragon II mit. Mit etwas weniger Wicklungen als der 57/08 ist dieser Pickup am besten bei den Clean-. bis Crunch-Sounds aufgehoben. Ich habe ihn mit einem 59/09 Treble zusammen an einem PRS 5-way rotary switch verbaut und alle Positionen klingen exzellent. Da die 59/09er für den 5-way switch gebaut wurden, brummt auch nix (kein Magnet drehen o. ä. nötig). Schöner Pickup, auch wenn der Preis zu denken gibt. Der Sound ist wirklich erstklassig aber letztlich auch nicht außergewöhnlich, so dass das Argument "zu teuer" nicht entkräftet werden kann. Muss jeder selbst entscheiden - ich steh auf den PRS-Schnickes ...
Ein Stern Abzug bei Verarbeitung, weil die Kabel nicht vorverzinnt sind und der Masse-Leiter vom Volumen her scheinbar für eine Auto-Batterie ausgelegt ist.
