One Control Honey Bee OD - Overdrive

I was looking for a basic tubescreamer-style overdrive and ordered this one as well, as I'd heard good things about it. I was only planning on keeping 1 pedal, but I couldn't resist and kept this one as well (the other one was the JAM TubeDreamer).

The Honey Bee sounds like a Supro. It's a wonderful, creamy overdrive tone that gets very growly when you up the gain.

It's got a drive pot, a volume pot, and a 'nature' pot which colours your tone through frequency adjustment. The nature control isn't a filter or standard 'tone' knob, I'm not sure what's going on exactly but it sounds awesome. This thing can go from a soft purr to some real crunch. It does lose some dynamic range at higher gain levels, though.

The vintage/modern switch gives you a slightly different sound as well. Not necessary, but why not?

Overall I'd recommend checking out this pedal if you're looking for a boost and/or a pleasant overdrive pedal that isn't a Klone, a Tubescreamer, a Rat or an OD-1.

Ich habe sehr lange nach einem OD gesucht, der meinem cleanen Sound ein bißchen mehr Leben verleiht, ihn einfach organisch klingen läßt. Dank Thomann konnte ich viele Overdrives und Boost-Pedale ausprobieren. Den Honey Bee habe ich zufällig in einer FB-Gruppe gesehen und wollte ihn unbedingt mal antesten. Tja was soll ich sagen, ich bin von dem Teil echt begeistert. Die leichte Anzerrung ist warm und organisch. Vor allem den Vintage-Sound finde ich super! Der Modern-Sound ist für meinen Geschmackt ein bisschen zu hell. Für alle Low-Gainer eine echte Bereicherung. Ich habe mir anschließend den EQ-Kompressor von One Control bestellt, um eventuell noch mehr Sound-Variationen zu haben. Mal schauen, wie die beiden zusammen klingen.
