M-Live B.Beat 128GB

My band recently used the B.Beat for backing tracks, MIDI, and video projection for a show, and it worked well! Figured I'd share my experience with it. When I first got it, uploading the files to the B.Beat was very slow until I updated the firmware. Afterward, everything went smoothly and quickly. I found the app well designed, and I loved being able to easily select outputs, rearrange songs, and keep everything organized. I also appreciate being able to run a second one as a spare on stage. I did run into a problem with MIDI for lighting, so I reached out to the company for support. My show was in 2 days after I contacted them, and they solved the issue quickly. Stefano was incredibly helpful and kept me updated during the entire process. It was the best experience with technical support staff that I had ever experienced. I feel confident that if I ever run into an issue again, they will take care of it. They're proactive with improvements and new features, which is an added bonus. Overall, I like the B.Beat a lot for its capabilities and design. I don't know of any other company that's currently doing what M-Live is doing.

I used to use a laptop with an 8 output audio interface and a USB midi dongle and a HDMI dongle to run our backing tracks with lighting and video. It usually sat in a messy pile on the floor next our drummer so he could control the tracks with abelton live which involved him leaning over and touching the screen with his sweaty finger while holding a drumstick in the dark. Not always the best results. If the opening band stepped through our spider web of cables and something came unplugged it was a nightmare.
then came b-beat. I run 8 tracks of audio (6 outputs plus a separate headphone output) video straight out of the HDMI port and midi to run my lights straight out of the midi port. there is a lot of setup on the front end. you have to bounce your audio, video and midi all locked together. same start point and end points. it takes a bit of focus to get everything just right but once it locked together you are good to go. it's easy to change the set order on the go. but unlike a laptop system you can't really tweak all that much from inside the b-beat. if you are connected to a computer it's easy to edit things. so do your homework and double check that everything is correct before playing a show and this thing is a lifesaver.
