First of all, the pictures on Thomann don't do it justice. Its a beautiful looking snare !

Sound:
Exactly what you would expect from a snare like that. Big crispy, cutting through, powerful sound.
It does like to be tuned high, it just becomes alive.
Obviously, change the batter head to something with more controll..
For me Evans Heavywight or EC Reverse Dot, and you got yourself just a killer snare!
I got it on Christmas sale as well, so really just can't beat it for this price.

Eine Messingsnare stand schon lange auf meiner Wunschliste
und da sich bei mir eine Vorliebe für die 13''-Varianten ausgeprägt
hat, war die Bestellung schneller getätigt als der Verstand einsetzen
konnte. (Der Proberaum gleicht bereits einem Snare-Museum und
der Platz wird langsam knapp. Vielleicht sollte ich mich von einem
Gitarristen trennen).
Aufgefallen war mir die Snare auch aufgrund ihrer Optik und nach
dem Auspacken wurde mir warm ums Herz, wofür die äusserst gelungene Kombination von Black Nickel und Chrom verantwortlich war.
Die Abhebung funktionierte einwandfrei, was auch bis zum heutigen Tag
(5 Wochen nach dem Kauf) der Fall ist. Nachdem der obligatorische
Fellwechsel vollzogen war und auch die Snare in Stimmung war, folgte
der Praxistest, der eine Ausschüttung von Glückshormonen zur Folge
hatte.
Die Snare verfügt über einen warmen Metallton, der auch eine hohe
Stimmung angenehm begleitet. Sie ist durchaus durchsetzungsfähig,
aufgrund der sensiblen Teppichansprache bleibt sie aber auch in
ruhigerem Umfeld angenehm. Ebenso lassen sich Rimshots von
ausgeprägt bis dezent einsetzen.
Ich setzte meine neue Lieblingssnare für Blues- und Rocktitel ein
und auch bei Jazzigem und bei Balladen fühle ich mich mit ihr wohl
und freue mich auf unsere gemeinsame Zukunft.
