Quality music stand

This is a well made music stand. There are many less expensive music stands that look and perform similarly, but most of them use plastic parts for locking the music desk in place, and in my experience they usually fail after about a decade of moderate use. This music stand is made mostly of metal parts and should last longer.

This is however not a heavy duty stand; the column is slim and the music desk is made of a thin piece of metal. While this is unlikely to be a problem for normal use, it does not feel as rock solid as the more expensive, heavier music stands. The lighter weight does make it easier to carry the stand around. However, I wouldn't consider this stand portable because you can't fold the music desk anyway and it's easy to lose the screws while taking it apart.

Excellent But I Have One Small Niggle

This stand operates just how I expected and is solid, well made and sturdy. It looks good and the fact that you can take the main two sections apart is probably a good thing if you were transporting a few stands at once.

My small worry is that the two nuts which hold the top section to the stand, could fall off and get lost rendering the stand useless. K&M mic stands allow you to tighten all loose sections for transport but it would add a lot of unnecessary time and effort to tighten these nuts each time.

That said, it is a great product!
