JBL PRX818XLFW

I had considered for a long time buying a Sub to go with the JBL PRX735 I had bought last year, that range has since been replaced with the PRX835 which included wifi eq.
This addition, was a wise one. It really has added a lot to an already great sound. We play acoustic traditional celtic music and I have been using a foot stomper. In some venues I felt I wasn't getting a great oomff from the bottom end. That has changed.
This is a big speaker. It's pretty awkward to carry. I use a Van to set up gear, I'm a professional but I guess it's size would be a problem to a musician using a car. It's easiest to have 2 people carry it.
I am looking forward to testing it out further. I am a big fan of JBL for my live sound. I've used their speakers for years. I am unlikely to try any other brand these days. I like full spectrum produced in acoustic instruments. The addition of the Sub really adds a subtlety that you actually feel as well as hear. My band complain about the extra gear to carry all the time. But after hearing this they changed their mind.
I bought the Transport cover to go with it.
It's Big... that seems to be the only downside but if you want a big sound you are going to need a big speaker. It's physics. Get over it. :-)

Das Bass Monster ala JBL 818 ist eine wahre Pracht, Design und Praxis ist für meine Nutzung als Bass Erweiterung zu den JBL JRX 200 (30er Tops) absolut ok . Meine Tops laufen an 400 Watt Full Range und der Subwoofer bringt 1,5 KW das sind komplett 1,9 KW aber beides jeweils über den Drive Rack PA2 von JBL getrennt und gut abgestimmt!

Der Subwoofer hat noch eine Connect Taste und man kann auch noch via App einen 8 Band Equalizer und Laufzeit bzw. auch Gain Einpegeln was ich zwar nicht direkt brauche aber trotzdem viel wert ist, wenn man es Einstellen kann. Wenn ich das richtig verstehe, wird laut Datenblatt bei Frequenz Bereich Auskoppeln die 80Hz Digitaler 24db / Oktave Linkwitz-Riley Filter Einstellung Benutzt das heißt in der Theorie wenn mein Drive Rack genau gleich ohne Toleranzen Arbeitet könnte ich den Subwoofer out von X bis 80Hz Digitaler 24db / Oktave Linkwitz-Riley Filter rausgeben. Ich persönlich gebe bis 90 Hz Raus da meine Tops bis 90 Hz nach unten fast Fullrange spielen! Bei richtiger Einstellung und gutem Analog Mixer klingt alles sehr druckvoll und warm vor allem spielt der Bass noch Staub trocken und Tief. Der Subwoofer bekommt klare Kaufempfehlung!

Edit habe mittlerweile 2 Stück und beschalle Hallen von 15 mal 30 Meter damit locker oder bis 400 Leute mit passenden FOH Lautsprecher und Amtlichen Equipment! Vorausgesetzt man misst alles gut ein dann klingt es auch ich mag persönlich den JBL Sound sehr. Wobei ich auch den RCF Sound mag aber außer den beiden Hersteller kommt nix von Lautsprecher rein bei mir.
