HIFIMAN ANANDA Nano

I recently picked up the Hifiman Ananda Nano after watching Paul Third’s in-depth review on his YouTube channel, where he praised these headphones as the fastest and most detailed pair he’s tried. Paul describes them as having an incredibly fast transient response thanks to their ultra-thin, nanometer-thick diaphragm. The result is clear and punchy lows and precise differentiation between bass and kick – a lifesaver for mixing genres that demand tight low-end control.

In my experience so far, these headphones are a dream when it comes to catching details, particularly in the midrange, as Paul highlighted. You can really hear every nuance in vocal clicks or sibilance, making it easy to tweak compression and EQ to perfection. However, as Paul warned, the Ananda Nanos can be almost “too” revealing in the center channel, which can tempt you into over-processing certain elements. But that’s a good problem to have – if you can get the low-end balance right on these, it will translate well on other systems.

Paul also mentioned his experience comparing these to other high-end headphones like the Audeze MX4 and HD1000 SE, and he stands by the Ananda Nano for its sheer speed and clarity at a fraction of the cost. I've felt the same; these outperform expectations in terms of clarity and tightness, especially when checking low-end levels after mixing on speakers.

Compared to my previous pair of Bayerdynamic DT 1990 PRO, Ananda is a clear winner. It feels like you unlock another dimension of musical perception. Listening to low-end of my previous tracks I can hear that DT1990's just made a non-musical mush.

Overall, these headphones are well-built, surprisingly durable, and worth every penny for anyone serious about detailed mixing and clean low-end.

The HiFiMan Ananda Nano headphones deliver an impressive listening experience, with punchy, impactful sound that makes every note feel dynamic and engaging. The headphones excel in clarity, rendering transients with precision and bringing out the subtleties in complex tracks. This makes them a great choice for both professional monitoring and immersive listening.

While the sound quality is outstanding, the side panels have a somewhat budget appearance, which doesn’t quite match the premium audio performance. However, this minor design flaw is easily overlooked once you’re immersed in the exceptional sound quality these headphones provide.

I went from Beyerdynamic 1990 Pro to this and I have to say my mixes are already translating better. Especially the low end seems to me to be tighter, thus fixing the problem I had with kick and bass being too mushy and/or overwhelming.

As other people have stated, they do feel kinda clampy on the head right out the box, though I grew accustomed to it rather quickly; either from the headphones adjusting to my head or my head to the headphones.

Great pair of cans for the price

... plötzlich hab ich mit meinen neuen Cabasse Lautsprechern den intensiven Wunsch, so einen überragend klaren Klang auch im Kopfhörer zu haben, rufe bei thomann an und spreche direkt mit Daniel (Beratung Kopfhörer).
Daniel macht seinem JOB so w u n d e r b a r, daß meine Frage: "Welchen Kopfhörer nehm ich denn nun, großes Angebot, soviele top Bewertungen!" an diesem Tag innerhalb weniger Stunden - mit zwei Daniel-Telefonaten - geklärt ist.
Und verrückt, auch wenn dieser HIFIMAN ANANDA Nano da noch garnicht bei mir ist, hab ich ein freudig warmes Gefühl im Herzen, genau diesen bald in der Hand und auf dem Kopf zu haben.
Das geht alles so fließend, daß die Lieferung (hab Do-abend bestellt) statt am angekündigten Montag (nach dem WE) bereits am Samstag (vor dem WE) bei mir ist.
Und meinerseits (die Wahrnehmung ist ja immer individuell) ist die High fidelity - überragende Klangqualität dieses HIFIMAN ANANDA Nano sogar mehr, ein viel mehr an Klang und Klarheit, sauber professionell gepaart mit dem Tragekomfort namens 'kaum spürbar' - einfach traumhaft!
Hier ist alle Aufmerksamkeit beim Klang, wo der herkommt ist 'überirdisch', so daß die Hülle (Kopfbügel,Ohrmuscheln u.m.), durch die er kommt, sich transzendiert.
Die Welt ist Klang - Nada Brahma (Joachim-Ernst Berend), wie wunderbar ist es, mit geschlossenen Augen im Klang soviel mehr abgebildet zu bekommen!
Ach ja - und soviel MEHR an/in und aus diesem überragenden Klangqualitätsprodukt für den Preis (459 Euro) - da spar ich mir ein Fazit
und freue mich nur, daß Daniel ihn mir vermittelt hat.
