A True Classic Waiting to Happen
Slambot 26.07.2020
After chasing tone for 30 years I found myself always going back and forth between classic PAF style and "contemporary" hotter pickups (a la SD JB) - going between amps was a pain when one loves classic rock as well as hardcore/metal. Finding one pickup to work with low AND high gain amps has been a lifelong challenge.
I received a set of this pickups as a gift and they sat in their box for well over two years. One day I decided to give them a try. And I was immediately gifted with not only a KILLER sounding PAF, but the pull of the old knob brought me into high gain glory. And while one may think that this pickup may be a gimmick - it is not. With it's two gain settings, this pickup will easily rival the best of the best PAFs and any modern'ish higher gain pickup. It is not an extreme high gain, just perfect... think Seymour Duncan JB (SH4) or DiMarzio Super Distortion type pickups.
PROS:
* Two different gains, classic and modern-esque (I assume their "modern" version picks up where this leaves off)
* Single coil tapping, or further cutting of the highs (either or)
* Fantastic sounding!
Cons:
* Battery life doesn't seem to be as advertised, BUT it may depend on battery brand etc.
* For a humbucker set, you only receive short pots - so Les paul owners are SOL with out putting out another 60€ to get the proper long shaft push/pull and standard pots. But the sound still makes it worth it to me.
* When I emailed some questions to them, they never returned my mail. Since we are still in cover, I will try again, buuuuuut......

the best thing that can happen to a guitar

I have been using fluance strat version for a year and they are amazing. I bought these for my Cort m600 amazing bright tones. There are 3 modes and they all work great. only one flaw is noise when playing in single mode. I would definitely recommend.
