Still using the set that came with my GS Mini Koa bass nearly 2 years ago and they are to my ears improving with time and use( it could be me just getting better at playing them though). I don't gig with the bass so I can't go into how they would hold up over more intensive playing, only to suspect that they wouldn't let you down. The tension is a lot lighter than metal core strings so with a light touch you already have access to big rich and deep tones. The harder you dig in, the more you will get into fret buzz territory but it comes with the advantage to pulling those rubbery sounds akin to an upright bass. I've read complaints about the bass/strings that the E string is not as loud as the others but I haven't experienced that problem. Love these strings!

Im letzten Jahr hatte ich mir einen PNB 14E Akustik Bass von Ibanez zugelegt, vor allem als Reise Instrument, das nicht größer als eine Konzertgitarre ist. Diesen Bass habe ich auf einer Griechenland Reise zum Probieren von einem Kollegen geliehen bekommen. Besonders daran fand ich die serienmäßig von Taylor und D´Addario entwickelten Mini Acoustic Bass Saiten, die für kleine Bässe mit kurzer Mensur entwickelt wureden. Der Gag ist der Nylon Kern mit umwickelter Phosphor Bronze. Das vermittelt ein sehr angenehmes Spielgefühl vor allem für die Anschlagshand. Es ensteht ein warmer, ausgewogener und runder Sound mit tollem sustain, der aus einem Mini Bass eine wahre Wuchtbrumme macht, vor allem dann, wenn man über einen Amp spielt. Da bleiben für mich keine Wünsche offen, bis auf die Tatsache, dass ein Mini Bass selbstverständlich nicht so viele Bünde hat wie die großen Verwandten.
Darüber hinaus sind die Saiten langlebig und behalten recht lange ihre Brillianz, so dass der Preis von € 49.- einigermaßen zu verschmerzen ist.
Für mich heißt das: wenn Mini Bass dann auch diese Mini Bass Saiten.

Aber das obertonreiche hat auch seine Schattenseite: Man hört gut, wenn die Saiten alt werden. Außerdem sieht man es ihnen auch an.

Ein sehr gutes Produkt aber auch aufwändig im Unterhalt.
